Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Strategic Contribution

 

  • Develop and implement the financial vision and strategy of the organization, while ensuring the alignment of this strategy with the overall business goals
  • Monitor industry trends, market conditions, and financial performance to identify opportunities for growth and make informed strategic decisions

 

Risk Management

 

  • Develop and implement a risk management framework to identify, assess, and manage risks across the company
  • Ensure that appropriate risk mitigation strategies and controls are in place to protect the company's assets and minimize potential financial losses

 

Budgeting

 

  • Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive annual budgets that support the company's strategic goals and objectives
  • Monitor financial performance against budgets, identify variances, and work with department heads to implement corrective actions when necessary

 

Policies, Processes, and Procedures

 

  • Contribute to the development, revision, and enhancement of financial policies, processes, and procedures
  • Ensure that the departments follow all relevant financial policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner

 

People Management

 

  • Manage financial staff, including recruiting, training, career development opportunities, and performance management (by providing formal and informal feedback), to ensure that work is carried out in an efficient manner and in accordance with set individual targets
  • Ensure that team members have the resources they need to be successful and encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing

 

Reporting

 

  • Supervise the preparation of timely and accurate reports to meet the company's and departments’ requirements, policies, and standards
  • Provide regular financial reports to senior management and other stakeholders promptly

 

Continuous Improvement

 

  • Stimulate subordinates and contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes, and practices, taking into account ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction, and productivity improvement

 

Functional Accountability:

 

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of financial planning and analysis, as well as financing and investment strategies to support the company's growth and profitability goals
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial data to relevant stakeholders
  • Oversee the budgeting and forecasting process to ensure that the financial targets are met
  • Manage the company's cash flow, liquidity, and investment strategies, including identifying and evaluating investment opportunities to ensure financial stability and growth
  • Develop and maintain relationships with financial partners, such as banks, auditors, and investors, to ensure that the company's financial needs are met
  • Manage financial risks and elaborate risk mitigation strategies to minimize the company's exposure to financial losses
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of disaster recovery and business continuity plans

 

Job Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • A relevant degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration; professional qualifications (e.g., CMA, CPA, ACCA, CFA) are highly desirable.
  • Proven experience as a CFO, Finance Director, or in a senior commercial finance role, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
  • Fluent in Arabic and English, with excellent communication skills in both languages.
